Heronora

🔌 Developers

Give another system a key and it can send posts and media into Heronora without anyone signing in. You make the key, you see when it was last used, and you turn it off when you want.

How it works

  1. Open Settings, then Developers. Press New key, name it after the system that will use it, and choose whether it may add content, read what is there, or both.
  2. The key is shown once. Copy it into your own system there and then, because Heronora does not show it again.
  3. Your system sends posts to /api/import/posts and media to /api/import/media. The Developers page shows both requests already filled in with your own business id, so you copy one and run it.
  4. Every key shows when it was last used. Remove one and everything using it stops at that moment.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I lose the key?

Nothing breaks. Remove that key, make a new one, and put the new value in the system that was using it.

Can a key read my content?

Only if you let it. When you make a key you choose whether it can add posts and media, read what is there, or both.

Does content sent this way go out straight away?

Only if your system asks for that. By default it arrives as a draft and waits for you. Send it as scheduled with a time and it goes out then.
